Again, this is just my own opinion.
Frankly speaking, I believe that the Chief Justice should definitely be convicted and disclosed from continuing his service. Ignorance of the law is not an excuse. Being the face of the highest form of justice system in the Philippines, CJ Corona should’ve taken every measure seriously. True enough, if the helpless court interpreter who once made her mistake by not including her sari-sari store in her Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth was impeached, how much more the highest body in judiciary? And in the first place, being the chief justice means having integrity, discernment and honesty in all aspects be it little or huge details about him and his background. May the court’s decision be the start of a fair justice system in our country.
